New Belly Dance Venue

I am performing at a new belly dance venue in Coolidge Corner! It's a small, family restaurant. I love Persian food, so I'm glad to see more of them opening up. Please come and support this restaurant to ensure that the belly dancing continues...dancing is on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

This is a 2-day extravaganza, which begins on August 28th, is produced by the one and only ZaBeth! Samarra will perform with Mirza Dance Ensemble at the tribute to legendary local singer, George Abdo, who used to headline at the Averof Restaurant. We will be performing debke to one of his most famous songs.

Samarra performs along with the creators of this annual benefit: Astro Al, Tim Mungenest & His Pre-existing Conditions, in addition to Wisteriax and Bill. The charity is Heifer International, which provides ecologically sound and culturally correct livestock to third world subsistence farmers, plus training.

New Studio!

It's more of an office space and is only big enough to make costumes in. There will not be any classes or dance studio space available. I will be making custom-made belly dance costumes as well as ready-to wear costume pieces, and I'll gradually have more information and photos on this website. Please note that there will not be any classes or dance studio space available. It's in the heart of Government Center, right across from the subway, overlooking City Hall Plaza, and will be open by appointment only.

Some fun facts:

TThis historic building, (the Hemenway Building) formerly housed the law office of Daniel Webster, as well as the famous gourmet food shop, S.S. Pierce--who sold such exotic items as pickled reindeer tongue! And on this site, stood the old Customs House, and before that, Ingersoll's Inn, where President George Washington stayed on a visit to Boston.
