Samarra will be performing with Emperor Norton’s Stationery Marching Band at this annual festival, outside in Davis Square. A long list of similar bands from around the county and a few from other countries take over the entire square to perform all weekend. It's a blast!

Samarra will perform as part of Mirza Dance Ensemble, put together especially for this show, by one of the area’s most respected Middle Eastern dance instructors, Shadia. The troupe will perform “Debke Dance,” a folkloric piece with Oriental solos at this second annual fundraiser for We Love Children.

The Boston Chapter of the Northeast Belly Dance Association, along with guest dancers from the area, is presenting a fundraiser for the MA Humane Society. There will also be raffles, door prizes, vending and, for an additional charge, a workshop with Najmat. *Members: $5 show only/$15 workshop & show, Non-members: $8 show only/$20 workshop & show.

New Studio!
It's more of an office space and is only big enough to make costumes in. There will not be any classes or dance studio space available. I will be making custom-made belly dance costumes as well as ready-to wear costume pieces, and I'll gradually have more information and photos on this website. Please note that there will not be any classes or dance studio space available. It's in the heart of Government Center, right across from the subway, overlooking City Hall Plaza, and will be open by appointment only.

Some *fun facts*:
TThis historic building, (the Hemenway Building) formerly housed the law office of Daniel Webster, as well as the famous gourmet food shop, S.S. Pierce--who sold such exotic items as pickled reindeer tongue! And on this site, stood the old Customs House, and before that, Ingersoll's Inn, where President George Washington stayed on a visit to Boston.
